Freebird opens first honky-tonk style boot store on Nashville's historic 2nd Avenue

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Freebird Stores has opened their newest location in downtown Nashville at the old B.B. King’s Blues Club on Second Avenue, but this location is different than others.

Tourists and locals can come to the store and experience shopping, live music, and a bar.

Freebird Honky-Tonk is joining in the efforts to rebuild the historic street after the Christmas Day 2020 bombing.

The store opened its first location in Denver in 2009 and is known for western-themed handcrafted boots, baby shoes, hats, and bags.

Owner and CEO of Freebird Stores, Mike Murphy, says, “You can expect amazing, unique, handcrafted boots and shoes along with our new hat collection, signature cocktails, and drinks and some of the best emerging singers and songwriters in Nashville.”

Freebird has another Nashville location at the Mall at Green Hills.

A grand opening is set for Tuesday, July 11 from 5 to 8 p.m.
