COUNTRY MUSIC’S CALVIN LEE TO RELEASE UNIFYING SINGLE “MY AMERICA”

August 28, 2020 (NASHVILLE,TN) Calvin Lee’s first single, “My America”, featuring CMA Award-winning and Grammy-nominated Heidi Newfield and Keith Burns (formerly known as Trick Pony), paints a clear picture of idyllic small town, USA. The song lends itself to a smooth country twang that is reminiscent of early 2000’s country with a fresh and modern twist. The listener will want to sit on the front porch in a rocking chair and eat apple pie after hearing Calvin’s distinct country vocals on the track that perfectly portrays the middle America lifestyle. Produced in Nashville, TN under the direction of executive producer Ron Bivins and an all star team, “My America” will be available on all streaming platforms on Friday September 4th, 2020.

“This song is an all inclusive song of unity, hard times, and how we came up as country boys,” Lee says. “I see a future of every nationality coming together as one to make a better world, and that’s what this song represents for me. “My America” is that song I am very proud of.  It represents the country that I was born and raised in.  It’s all of us and "In God we trust."”

“My America” is an "anthem-like" soundtrack of people’s lives today – it’s relevant. The collaboration between Heidi Newfield & Keith Burns captures the deeper emotions and proud feelings of our time. It is a meaningful song created through a rare combination of black and white artists in country music working together. “Working with Heidi and Keith was a dream come true.  They are legends,” says Calvin. “Heidi’s powerful big voice coming out of that small frame had the ceiling crumbling. It was raining sheetrock on us when she stepped toward the mic.”

Calvin grew up in the small, hard-working town of Earle, Arkansas on his family’s farm.  Music was fused into every aspect of his childhood and he picked up singing from listening to the workers on the farm and at church. During his time in college at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX, Calvin was immersed in country culture, performing at festivals alongside established acts like Tracy Byrd,  Zona Jones and Jimmie Van Zant.  During these performances, Calvin would often hear praise of his voice and was consistently encouraged to move to Nashville.  Though it wasn’t an easy decision, Calvin took their advice, packed up for Music City, and hasn’t looked back since. With deep rural roots and a voice grown in gospel, Calvin Lee has created his own unique blend of country soul.
