AUSTRALIA’S RISING SINGER RELEASES COVER OF AN AEROSMITH ROCK ANTHEM THAT’S BLOWING MINDS

First single “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” from rising jazz singer, Alexander, available globally March 26th

WOLLONGONG, NSW - You know it as one of the most popular rock anthems, Aerosmith’s killer hit “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing,” written by the renowned Diane Warren, until now. Australia’s newest Jazz Singer, Alexander flawlessly maneuvers the Rock N’ Roll out of this classic and replaces the lead guitar licks, rock vocals, and heavy drum beats with his incredibly smooth crooner style. Retaining most of the melodic sound but contradicting it enough to where the repeat button is a must, Alexander and legendary songwriter / producer John Capek (Rod Stewart, Cher, Olivia Newton-John, Diana Ross) manage to craft a new angle of magic to the iconic hit. Covering this monumental hit is an uphill climb, but with the help of other iconic musicians, Alexander manages to rise to the daunting challenge. You'll never want to hit pause once you hear the sounds of Bruce Dees (Elvis Presley, James Brown, Johnny Cash), Viktor Krauss (Allison Krauss, Lyle Lovett), Mark Beckett (Vince Gill, Dolly Parton), and Milton Smith (Mark Lowry) come together on this track.

“I love taking songs I grew up listening to and making them special for a new generation,” said Alexander. “I grew up listening to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby - that’s my crowd.” At only twenty-one, he is somewhat of an oddity, feeling soul-tied to the dying genre. “It allows me to take something nostalgic for me, and many others, and turn it into something that aligns with the kind of music [jazz] I am passionate about.”

Alexander previously released his debut ep, “Imagination,” in March of 2020, which contains other favorite covers including “Besame Mucho'' (Andrea Bocelli), “Is You Is or Is You Ain’t Ma’ Baby” (Louis Jordan), and an original song, “Winter Shadows”. His upcoming release, “I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing”, will be the first featured single from the artist.

“Alex is more than unique for these times, this culture, for his age and in all of my musical experience,” said Capek. “Alex brings the romance of the lyric with his own interpretation of the melody to a lush arrangement that would make ‘ol’ blue eyes’ proud. Alex is a dream to work with in my role as producer/arranger and the future looks smooth, bright and swinging for this special new talent.”

The bright, young crooner falls right ahead of trend, on the heels of the Vitamin String Quartet who have recently had their classic covers of pop songs featured on the Netflix original series Bridgerton. The cover keeps the sentiment of the original but adds a sweeter, more romantic undertone.

The single features a photo shoot with the young troubadour in a Porsche 356, heavily reflecting his authenticity and truly unique style for this day and age. Never has an old soul fit so perfectly in the shape of Alexander.

This release is only the beginning of the young vocalist’s explosive career. For more information on Alexander and to follow his journey through jazz, visit his website and social channels below.

About Alexander:

With his old-school sound and dapper demeanor, you would never guess that “piano man” Alexander is only 21 years old. Citing Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Nat King Cole as his influences, Alex uses his strong, smooth tone and old-school character to stand out among up-and-coming singers his age. Like all notorious lounge singers, Alex isn’t simply a talented vocalist but also aims to keep his audience entertained. Over a decade of performing has allowed him to develop this skill and charm his audience every time he steps on stage. In March 2020, Alex released his debut album, “Imagination,” featuring his original song “Winter Shadows” as well as original arrangements of classic jazz songs. A man of many talents, Alex sings, plays, composes, and arranges all of his music himself. With his classic crooner sound and entertaining character, Alexander hopes to bring his old school sound to a new generation of listeners.
