Our goal for country artist Calvin Lee was to spread awareness of this song through the release of various versions.
The first phase was publicity. Though Calvin may seem late to the game considering his age, his struggle with diversity and his ability to create a powerful anthem did not go unnoticed. Calvin received interest from outlets of all sizes, some with a small but strong following, which lead all the way to CMT premiering the music video.
Phase two had the team uniting Americans through political campaigns. Representative Rick Crawford (R) and the Georgia Democrats were all brought together by the strong lyrics. Crawford’s team has shared that they play the song before meetings to remind them all why they have pursued serving the American people. The Georgia Democrats invited Calvin to play “My America” along with other veterans for thousands via a livestream festival.
Overall, the Dead Horse team was able to go above and beyond their goals by attaining high level media placement and creating a strong sense of nationalism in the time of a pandemic, rioting, and the election.
