Desert-Born Singer/Songwriter Siena Releases Her Debut Single, “Sass”
Nashville-based and desert-born breakthrough artist, Siena, hit the ground running with the release of her debut single, “Sass” last week.
The honky-tonkin’ energetic song is a country music anthem, telling it like it is. “Livin’ like we’ve got no past, tonight we’re going to make it last, mornings going to come so fast, just tell me how you like that Sass…” The desert-born singer out of Las Vegas is an artist born to emerge in the country scene with her unapologetic and spaghetti western spirit.
Swinging from the neon lights, this is a record that is sure to make waves through generations of women. The lyrics are beyond catchy and paint a story for a girl’s night out. Siena says, “I haven’t heard a fun GNO party song in a while, so I thought, why not write one! I wrote this song with Don Miggs, who also produced it. He really helped bring it to life.” From the storytelling to the captivating melodies, “Sass” is a danceable song that hits all the elements that listeners love. Siena’s music separates her from any other artist as she engages that ‘at home’ feeling through metaphoric writing.
Siena (2022)
Never failing to catch people’s attention with her authentic sound, Siena embraces her inner self and gives her devoted audience a song to resonate with. “I want my audience to know that if ever you’re feeling down, crank up this tune and have yourself a good time,” says Siena.
Siena’s desert richness and rustic vocals keep us grounded in our roots in an ever-changing music scene. During Siena’s career, she has shared the stage with Rascal Flatts, Big and Rich, and Rodney Adkins, to name a few. In 2021, Siena performed the National Anthem for Academy Award Nominee, actor, screenwriter, and director, Taylor Sheridan’s The Run For A Million Reining Horse Show in Las Vegas.
We were able to speak to Siena to ask her more about herself and her epic debut…
Bridge: Give our readers some insight into your musical career so far…
Siena: I’ve had the opportunity to sing for Taylor Sheridan(creator of Yellowstone) multiple times, performed at venues in Las Vegas like Stoney’s, Toby Keith’s Bar, NASCAR, NHRA, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, etc.
Bridge: What has it been like going from the Las Vegas music scene to the Nashville scene?
Siena: They are both exciting! Las Vegas in my opinion is more showy, glitz/glam, club vibes, but definitely a good time! Nashville is more of a good ol honky tonkin’ scene. You can dress up or dress down. I do like Nashville because there are more opportunities for country music artists.
Bridge: Who are some of your musical influences and inspirations?
Siena: There are a lot of people I find influence from, but the top 3 are Stevie Nicks, Miranda Lambert, and John Mayer. They all emote and write in different ways that speak to me.
Bridge: Who would be a dream collaboration for you?
Siena: I’d have to say my dream collaboration would have to be with Miranda Lambert or Riley Green! They’re both great artists who carry the sound of real country music but still stay relevant.
“Sass” (2022)
Bridge: Your debut single ‘Sass’ just dropped! Tell us all about it…
Siena: SASS is a good ol GNO song! I wrote SASS with my good friend, co-writer, and producer Don Miggs. We had a lot of fun writing it, the lyrics came together within 30 minutes or so! This song is meant to empower and give confidence to all listeners!
Bridge: What do you want your listeners to get out of your debut?
Siena: I want my listeners to be excited and eager to hear SASS and especially what I have coming in the future! And of course share with family and friends.
Bridge: What is next for you? What can we look forward to in 2023?
Siena: I’m always writing and looking for new songs that speak to me. But I am most excited to be performing in different venues and creating a bigger fan base I can connect with!
Bridge: If you had to pick any song to be the soundtrack of your life, what would it be and why?
Siena: Dreams by Fleetwood Mac. This song truly speaks to me. The music and writing back then was so beyond the time. I love listening to their records and letting the music inspire how I create my own.
